Food Programs

Community Meals

Feed Israel sponsors community meals, where families can partake in elaborately catered meals hosted at local restaurants throughout Israel’s major cities. Feed Israel community meals are a great way for people to meet other people in similar situations, discuss opportunities, gain emotional support, and learn about nutrition in a fun environment.

Emergency Food Vouchers Program

To offset the high cost of purchasing healthy food, Feed Israel funds the distribution of hundreds of food vouchers and coupons, for use at local supermarkets in the purchase of vegetables, fruits, beans, rice and other essential food items.

Weekly Food Package Program

Feed Israel ensures that there is a consistent supply of quality food packages distributed anonymously and inconspicuously to those in need. With the assistance of trained Feed Israel volunteers, each and every week hundreds of food packages are delivered to struggling families. In addition, major distributions on a massive scale are conducted prior to every Jewish holiday.

Local Events

Feed Israel Foundation supports the partnerships with local municipalities under the direction of the Department of Welfare and Social Services to host local Nutrition Day events. Parents and children partake in these events, which typically feature a number of informative lectures regarding proper nutrition. Feed Israel will also host  Bar-Mitzvah celebrations for those who themselves cannot afford to mark the special occasion on their own. Feed Israel will offer holiday meals, enhanced by a full carnivals, featuring rides, food stalls, popcorn and cotton candy machines, clowns, and games where children can learn about nutrition in a fun, carefree environment. Volunteers at the events are trained and guided by Feed Israel.

Programs for the Elderly, Holocaust Survivors and the Physically Disabled

Large quantities of raw meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, dry goods, and wine as well as cooked food packages are distributed throughout Tel-Aviv, Haifa and Rishon-Lezion, where many of Israel’s elderly and disabled population reside.

Projects in Underprivileged Communities

With the influx of Ethiopian immigrants to Israel, Feed Israel expanded its support of food banks and pantries around the country to help combat the lack of food security many in the immigrant community face. This past year alone, Feed Israel assisted in the procurement and distribution of over a million meals to immigrants in Israel.

Summer Camps for Terror Victims

During the summer when school is out, many children from destitute homes, and families who are victims of terror attacks and other tragedies, are left without a structured program and without supervision. They suffer financial distress and cannot afford to give their children a respite. The children are provided with an enjoyable summer camp experience. Feed Israel provides them with three nutritious meals a day.

Sandwich Program

As one of Feed Israel’s food security initiatives, Feed Israel distributes sandwiches to children attending schools in lower income neighborhoods.  For many of the children this is often their first meal of the day!

Sponsored Passover Meals

In collaboration with the immigration department of the Tel Aviv Municipality, Feed Israel celebrates Passover by hosting a solemn ceremony with the attendance of hundreds of people. During Passover 2012, Feed Israel hosted over 1,600 people in need who could not afford to celebrate Passover on their own.
